Dr. Henry Lu Portrait

Dr. Henry C. Lu received his Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Between 1968 and 1971, he taught at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary. Dr. Lu has practiced Chinese medicine since 1972 and now teaches it by correspondence. His students originate in many countries, including the United States, Canada, England, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Germany, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Mexico, and Japan.

Dr. Lu is best known for his English translation of The Yellow Emperor's Classics of Internal Medicine, and for establishing the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver, which he founded in 1986 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, for the instruction of traditional Chinese medicine.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Lu has practiced traditional Chinese medicine in Vancouver. It is his belief that, if traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture are to take root in the Western world, it is not enough that they be practiced: their wisdom must also be spread to North America by means of education. Over almost 25 years, the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver has built the richest TCM program resources in the Western world.

Dr. Lu lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he heads the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver and its affiliated clinic.
